A boy works to find his words. Words that come out in noises and vocalizations. He wants to talk, he wants to be clear, but his mouth fails him. Movements required to bring clarity of words are limited and halted. It is as if his body and it’s parts betrays his mind and beautiful language stays trapped in heart, head, and mouth.
His mama becomes his biggest cheerleader, coach, and speech therapist all in one. She finds her voice and lets her words encourage his to come forth. He responds. He lights up all joy filled and happy. His eyes tell her thanks and his body sits up in appreciation. He keeps communicating with her and the dance continues. His words are no clearer, but he doesn’t notice because he was heard. She heard his efforts. She loved him anyway. She met him where he was at and that made all the difference.
